In January 2012, I had the privilege of being hired onto Autoweek Magazine, located in Detroit, MI, where I was an editorial art intern for just under a year. Having never worked at a magazine, let alone doing editorial design, I quickly learned how demanding and swift the industry is. Yet, due to the constant need for speedy and accurate work, I was able to learn invaluable skills and lessons that will stay with me long after my career is over. From designing editorial layouts for the magazine, to advanced color correcting and editing, and setting up automotive photo shoots, I had one of the most fun, yet demanding jobs of my life so far. Below, you will see a few of the editorial layouts that I designs, along with humor pages and finally, a view of the 2013 New Car and Truck Buyer’s Guide that was my last project at Autoweek.
